Leftovers Series

How many things have you thrown away in your lifetime? Where does it all go? In the Leftovers series I examine overproduction, the repetitiveness of consumption, and how we live every day as the target of consumer manufacturer companies. I leverage the directness of photography and what is being captured in the camera’s frame, specifically what the viewer sees and experiences. I articulate my concepts by curating displays of overflow, leftovers, composting, decay, individual consumption, landfills, and the existence of waste all around us.

Waste is problematic, we all know it is there, yet we remain in denial and tend to not be proactive about it. My images emphasize composition where every detail is intentional, and each scene is set up or framed to tell a story and leave an impact. My imagery challenges the viewer to visualize the weight of these possessions or objects of consumption but is relatable in the sense of feeling unable to escape consumerism. My work is documentation of my own reflections on consumption, and a call to humanity to collectively minimize our waste.
